San Pasqual Union School DistirctThere are many reasons to love living in the San Pasqual Valley, especially for residents whose children attend San Pasqual Union School District. One of the best and most recent reasons is education. Last month, at a gala event, A Salute to Teachers, Mark Burroughs, was named as one of 5 San Diego County Teacher’s of the Year.

Mr. Burroughs, has taught at San Pasqual Union for the past 7 years. He currently teaches a 4-5 combo class. Mr. Burroughs is an innovator, leader and inspiring teacher. His love for technology, knowledge and education all help him in creating a learning environment for his students, that fosters an amazing amount of excitement and enthusiasm in the classroom.

Shortly after being named as one of San Diego County’s Teachers of the Year, Mr. Burroughs was notified that he was also one of 12 teachers state wide (out of 350,000 teachers), that were competing for the title of State Teacher of the Year.  Although, he has since been notified that did not make the “final cut” for the state competition, Mr. Burroughs still has a number of events that he will be attending here in San Diego.

One of his most recent events, was an interview conducted by Dr. Randy Ward on “Issues in Education” on ITV.  If you are interested in viewing the interview click Mark Burroughs San Pasqual Union School Distirct San Diego County Teacher of the Yearon the photo!

For kids who live in the Rancho San Pasqual and Rancho Vistamonte neighborhoods, and attend the local school,  Mr. Burroughs will surely touch their educational path in one way or another.
